APPROVED
Historic District Commission
Special Meeting Minutes
May 1, 2007
Members attending: Fitzwilliam, Guild, Luddy, McHugh and Walling.
CTO: 4:00 PM.
Phillip Terranova application to paint home located at 49 Lower Troy Road, Map 33, Lot 26, Residential and Historic Districts.
Gretchen Wittenberg represented Mr. Terranova. She said Mr. Terranova realized he needed Commission approval only last Friday. The painters have been under contract since last fall and are supposed to begin work immediately. Mr. Terranova asked for a special meeting of the HDC so he wouldn’t lose the painters. When he bought the home in 2001, he planned to paint it to emphasize the architectural details of this historic home and has now decided on the color scheme.
Commission members reviewed the application and the paint samples – dark gray for the house, white for the trim and deep gold for the front door. Ms. Wittenborg said that Mr. Terranova had worked really hard to choose colors that would fit in the neighborhood, noting the gray color he chose may look darker in the sample than it will on the house.
The Commission agreed the colors chosen were in the historic palette. Luddy moved, McHugh seconded and the Commission voted to approve the Terranova home paint selection as proposed.
Minutes: Luddy moved, McHugh seconded and the Commission voted to approve the April 12, 2007 minutes as written.
The Commission decided to hold the regularly scheduled meeting on May 10, 2007 at 4 PM to hear cases and continue to discuss the design guidelines.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:30 PM.
