Tom and Mary Frazier application to install a fence on their property located at 12 Kinsman Road, Map 11, Lot 01, Residential and Historic Districts.
Commissioners reviewed the application and a photograph of a similar fence erected by the same company on another local property.
The planned fence is white vinyl picket fence with a wrought iron gate. There is a limited sight line from Lower Troy Road, and the fence can be seen from Kinsman Road. The home is four years old and is vinyl sided. The owner investigated wood fences but felt it did not look appropriate for the age and style of the home.
Fitzwilliam noted this type of fence is in the neighborhood, although it was erected without the approval of the Commission. This is a neighborhood with other homes that are not antique homes.
Mrs. Frazier is purchasing a vinyl fence to reduce the cost and frequency of maintenance. She has children and a large dog and she feels it will stay better looking longer.
Luddy feels the fence is appropriate for the neighborhood. Luddy moved, Walling seconded and the Board voted to approve the application as proposed.
Administration:
Minutes were not recorded for the July 12, 2007 meeting. Two applications were approved. Ms. Partello’s application to paint her home located at 23 Upper Troy Road colonial red was approved. Mr. Edstrom’s application to construct a new home on Route 119 W. was approved. The Commission remarked the home was beautiful and appropriate for the site.
The Commission decided to hold the regularly scheduled meeting on September 13th at 4 PM to finalize the draft design guidelines. Members have assignments to complete: Walling – Resources/bibliography, Fitzwilliam – Introduction, McHugh – photographs and illustrations. A public hearing on the design guidelines will be scheduled on September 27th.
Fitzwilliam moved, Luddy seconded and the Commission voted to adjourn at 4:50 PM.
