Historic District Minutes 07/10/08
APPROVED
Historic District Commission
Public Hearing
July 10, 2008

Members attending:  John Fitzwilliam, Lottie Guild, Brian Luddy, Eileen McHugh, Reuel Walling.  CTO: 4:00 PM

Carl Goldknopf application to construct, install and operate a solar electric power system located at 248 Rhododendron Road, Map 15, Lot 3-1, Rural and Historic Districts.

Mr. Goldknopf said this system will generate electricity for personal use and to sell to PSNH.  There will be a battery back-up for personal use and when the batteries are full, excess will create credit for them with PSNH.  A local woodworker will build the frame and local plumber and electrician will complete the project.  They will use oil as backup.
The Commissioners agreed that since the home is not an antique, and is set back up a hill so it can’t be seen from the road, and the frame will be stained the same color as the house, there will not be a problem in his constructing it as proposed.

Luddy moved, Guild seconded and the Commission voted to approve the application.

Commissioners reviewed minutes of 6/12/08.  Luddy moved, McHugh seconded and the Commission approved the minutes as written. (Minutes taken by John Fitzwilliam.)

Kathy Hurst to renovate a shed and re-roof their home located at 88 Templeton Turnpike, Map 31, Lot 13, Residential and Historic Districts.

Mr. and Mrs. Hurst were present.  They have postponed an earlier project to replace windows in the home, and now are planning to re-roof all the buildings on the property with architectural shingles in gray tones.  The Commission asked them to bring a sample of the color for the file.  They plan to start this year and complete the project in 2009.  It is about 5000 square feet of roof.

They are renovating a shed that is the near the pool as a pool house for storage.  Soon they plan to build a fence for the pool that will connect with the granite retaining wall he is building behind the pool.

McHugh moved, Walling seconded and the Commission voted to approve the project as presented as being within the guidelines.

The Commissioners agreed to hold a public hearing on the revised Rules of Procedures and Regulations at the August 14, 2008 meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:45 PM.
