BOARD MEETING MINUTES
November 21, 2006
Selectmen Present: Thomas Parker, Chmn. , Michael Methe & Carmen Yon
Chairman Thomas Parker opened the meeting at 9:00 AM.
PRIMARY:
*** TOWN HALL INSULATION: we have three quotes. Mr. Yon moved to accept Builder Insulation for
the insulating of the attic. Mr. Methe recommended the R-38, the motion was seconded by Mr.
Parker, the motion passed 3-0.
*** ELLIE ROGERS: She has requested a letter indicating that the house can be rebuilt within a year. A
letter will be sent with regard to our ordinance.
*** AVITAR: The board would like to schedule a meeting with them.
*** SOUTHWEST REGION PLANNING COMMISSION: Mr. Parker stated he feels that some of the
Planning Board members do not feel they should be a member of this organization. Mr. Yon stated that
he feels the town uses these services. He stated that he Conservation Commission uses them. Mr.
Parker will speak with the Planning Board with regard to this issue.
*** DISCUSS 2007 BUDGET : The board feels that we should have one individual in charge of cleaning and maintenance of all town buildings. Mr. Methe suggested increasing the part time salary line for general government buildings to $6000. This is based upon approximately 8 hours a week.
Mr. Parker questioned if we should ask the painter how much it will cost to paint the sprinkler pipes while they are here.
Code Enforcement: The board feels that the Code Enforcement Officer is only responsible for enforcing
town codes.
Revaluation: This will include the 1/3 study and pickups. Any additional work would be a separate
article.
Meadowood: Mr. Methe stated that some of the membership has requested that the town increase the
amount allocated. The board of directors are discussing closing this down. Mr. Yon questioned how
increasing our contribution will help them. Mr. Methe stated that it would increase their income. Mr.
Methe does not feel this would make a difference, they will budget $3200 again.
CIP: Mr. Parker feels that we should look into a cold storage building for the highway department, and a police garage. He feels that long range, we should look at a municipal building.
