BOARD MEETING MINUTES
March 14, 2007
Selectmen Present: Thomas Parker, Chmn. , Michael Methe & Carmen Yon
Chairman Thomas Parker opened the meeting at 7:00 PM,
PRIMARY:
*** SWEAR IN SELECTMEN YON: Mr. Yon was sworn in as Selectmen
*** CHAIRMAN: Mr. Parker moved to appoint Mr. Methe as the Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, the
motion was seconded by Mr. Yon, the motion passed 3-0.
7:15pm MEET WITH ROAD AGENT GENE CUOMO:
At 7:17 PM, Mr. Methe made a motion to go into Non-Public Session under RSA 91 A:3 II (e). Mr.
Yon seconded the motion. The motion passed 3-0. Roll Call Vote; Mr. Parker – Yes, Mr. Methe – Yes,
Mr. Yon - yes.
At 7:29 PM. Mr. Methe made a motion to go out of Non-Public Session under RSA 91 A:3 II (e). Mr.
Yon seconded the motion. The motion passed 3-0
BACKHOE: Mr. Cuomo will research the backhoe purchase. He will look into last year’s model.
West Lake Road: There was a bad batch of material that Allstates used last year, it is coming up.
Allstates will make good on this material.
Gravel: Mr. Cuomo questioned if he would be able to access gravel on the town owned property once
there is an easement. He feels that we should consider having Park Construction come in and clean
this up. There is a lot of wood that needs to be cleaned up. Mr. Yon stated that it needs to be
determined what is allowed.
*** PURCHASE REQUISITION
Recreation:
Canopy - $449.98: one will be purchased out of the revolving account for use at the soccer
program, the other will be used for the summer recreation. Mr. Yon moved to approve, the motion was
seconded by Mr. Parker, the motion passed 3-0.
Cash Register: approved
*** VFW CHARITABLE EXEMPTION APPLICATION: To be reviewed
*** DISCUSS TOWN MEETING: Mr. Yon questioned if we should speak with any other towns with regard to
Avitar. Mr. Methe feels we may want to speak with a couple of additional assessment firms for a proposal.
We will contact the list of firms provided by DRA and request they submit information to us along with the
towns they serve.
Mr. Parker would like to make sure we keep people informed in the newsletter of what is going on in town.
*** WORKSHOPS:
CURRENT USE:
COMMUNITY PUBLIC HEALTH RESPONSE AND RECOVERY PLAN:
*** INFORMATION MANAGEMENT CORPORATION PROPOSAL: This is for laptops for the police
department.
*** COPY OF LETTER FROM POLICE CHIEF: This is a copy of a letter with regard to the destruction of the
ski trails.
*** INVOICE FROM ORR AND RENO: Mr. Yon moved to approve payment, the motion was seconded by
Mr. Parker, The motion passed 3-0.
*** LETTERS REGARING CATHEDRAL OF THE PINES STAMP INITIATIVE: Reviewed
*** EMPLOYEE EVALUATIONS:
*** CONSERVATION COMMSSION: Mrs. Zug was in to sign an appointment form, her appoint has expired.
Mr. Parker stated that he has had three people interested in serving on this committee, Dan Bemis,
John Tommila and Bob Corrette. Mr. Yon stated he feels that the board should discuss this with the
Conservation Commission. Mr. Parker stated that it is up to the Board of Selectmen to make these
appointments. He feels that there needs to be some diversity on this commission. Mr. Parker stated
that he would not recommend reappointment of Mrs. Zug. He feels that she overstepped her
authority by having Mr. Clukey sign a letter while Mr. Parker and Mr. Methe were in office. Mr. Parker
suggested we have Mrs. Vanderhaegen meet with the board.
*** NEWLETTER ARTICLES: : We will inform the residents of the new US Cellular cell tower at the Bard
building and advertise for part time secretarial help for the Conservation Commission.
