BOARD MEETING MINUTES
April 15, 2008
Selectmen Present: Carmen Yon, Chmn., Thomas Parker & Michael Methe
Chairman Carmen Yon opened the meeting at 9:00 am
PRIMARY:
*** MEET WITH JIM GIBNEY: Jim Gibney met with the Board. In 2003 we were one of the first towns the State completed an
assessment review on. They will be looking at the 2008 numbers. The report will be issued in Spring 2009. Mr. Gibney
reviewed the process for the assessment review. (See attached guidelines). Mr. Gibney stated that he will contact the office
prior to performing the review to determine if everything is ready. The Town gives comments to go into the final report. Mr.
Methe stated that he does not feel that the State considers the average tax payer with making these regulations if they order a
town to do an update. Mrs. Thompson questioned the Elderly exemption on having to keep the financial information on file.
Mr. Gibney stated that they have changed this, you do not have to keep this on file, it has to be marked as review. Mr. Yon
questioned how often this should be reviewed. Mr. Gibney stated that they should be reviewed every five years. Mr. Gibney
submitted a form the State has created that the town can send out. Mr. Parker reviewed the form and stated that he would be
against sending this form.
There being no further business, Mr. Methe moved to adjourn at 10:32 the motion was seconded by Mr. Parker, the motion passed 3-0.
