4 PM Mac Landy application for approval of a new business sign on property located at 56 NH Route 119 W, Map 32, Lot 37, Village Center Business District.
Commissioners reviewed the application for a new replacement sign for Mr. Landy’s antique business in his home. The new sign will be located closer to the driveway and farther from the highway. This two sided free standing sign is larger than the original but within the historic district size limits. It is a wooden sign, designed using a historic typeface dating from the 1700s. The background color will be the same as the existing sign, a deep red/burgundy.
Beckwith moved, Fitzwilliam seconded and the Commissioners unanimously approved the sign as proposed.
Appointments. Walling and Guild declined to be reappointed in March when their terms are up. Both have served on the Historic District Commission for many years; Guild for 17 years and Walling for 22 years.
Commissioners will approach several people prior to nominating them to the Selectmen for appointment.
Town Report. Commissioners reviewed the draft report of the Commission’s work over the past year for inclusion in the 2010 Annual Town Report.
Workplan for 2011. Commissioners will think about historic roads in Fitzwilliam with the goal of making recommendations to the Planning Board this year. They will also think about recognizing those historic homes that are not within the historic district.
Minutes. Commissioners reviewed the December 9, 2010 minutes. Yon moved, Fitzwilliam seconded and the Commission voted to approve the minutes as written.
Yon moved, Fitzwilliam seconded and the meeting adjourned at 4:30 PM.
