BOARD MEETING MINUTES
January 5, 2005
Selectmen Present: Mr. Clukey, and Mrs. Knight
Selectmen absent: Mrs. Silverman
Mrs. Knight convened the meeting at 7:00pm.
*** LIBRARY TRUSTEE APPOINTMENT: The board signed this appointment form for Diane Schott.
*** RESULTS OF LATEST WATER TEST ON PUBLIC SAFETY WELL: We have received another test result, the results are a little lower, but not much. Ms. Carney will take an additional sample. If the results are high, we need to look into the source of contamination. The cost and maintenance cost of a desalination system are very high.
*** REVIEW COPIES OF LETTERS FROM WINCHESTER SELECTMEN AND WINCHESTER SCHOOL BOARD CHAIR: Reviewed
*** REVIEW LETTER FROM DEPT OF SAFETY REGARDING SMALL AMOUNT OF UNSPENT HOMELAND SECURITY FUNDS: We had applied for two grants. One bought tools and one bought the spreader. This is remaining money from the grant for the tools. Mrs. Thompson has passed this along to Ms. Carney.
*** REQUEST TO ATTEND VISION APPRAISAL WORKSHOPS AND SOFTWARE USER GROUP: This is for a users group workshop. Mrs. Thompson stated that she and Mrs. Favreau attended this a few years ago. She feels that this would be very benificial to attend. This is a Wednesday and Thursday. Mrs. Knight feels that this would be very benificial, Mr. Clukey agreed. They approved Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Favreau attend this seminar. The office will be closed on Wednesday evening March 30 and Thursday March 31.
*** TURTLE ROCK RESCUE: Mrs. Thompson received an e-mail from Susan Miller with regard to what is happening with the horses at Turtle Rock Rescue. They have disbanded. This is a private matter. Mrs. Thompson will write back and state that the town is not involved. We have been in contact with the State and are aware that they have had their license revoked.

*** 2005 BUDGET – REVIEW CAPITAL PROJECTS
in preparation of meeting with budget committee tomorrow night:
$30000 for building maintenance. The board will include. This will include money for the library windows.
SCBA: Mrs. Knight spoke with fire department they are not in compliance now, they do not want to piece meal buying these items. They can still use them. They would like to be able to purchase them all at once. If they are required to replace, they can retro fit the existing.
